Chris Wright, Chief Detective/Training Officer/SRTDet. Wright, 25, has been serving with BPD since 2002. Wright graduated from Wayne County High School in 2001 and then attended Armstrong Atlantic State University where he completed the Georgia Basic Peace Officer Certification Course. During his tenure with the BPD Wright has served as a Patrol Officer, Traffic Officer, Corporal (Shift Supervisor), and is currently serving as Chief Detective and Training Officer. Wright is responsible for overseeing and conducting criminal investigations ranging from general investigations to narcotics investigations. Det. Wright is the commander of the BPD Special Response Team.
Wright is a member of numerous groups and organizations on National, State, and Local levels. He was the Blackshear Police Dept. "Officer of the Year" in 2007 and a member of the innogral Leadership Pierce Program.
Wright is currently pursuing a Bachlor's degree in Criminal Justice.
