Lawrence T. "Larry" Ethridge, Chief of PoliceChief Ethridge began his career with the Waycross Police Department in 1981. During his tenure with WPD he served in the patrol division for five years, the criminal investigations unit for twelve years, and watch commander of the patrol division for eight years. Ethridge served as Primary Negotiatior for the Waycross S.W.A.T Team for 17 years. After 25 years of service, Ethridge retired from the Waycross Police Department in 2004. Ethridge was appointed Chief of the Blackshear Police Department in June of 2007 and has served in that capacity since that time.
